Join The Chicago Farmers for a luncheon featuring Illinois Farm Bureau's newly-elected President, Philip Nelson. He will share his vision for Illinois agriculture and his priorities for Illinois Farm Bureau as he looks ahead to the opportunities and challenges facing the industry.
Philip Nelson of Seneca, IL is serving as the 17th President of the Illinois Farm Bureau. He also served as the 14th President from 2003 to 2013 and as Vice President from 1999 to 2003. 
Philip and his wife, Carmen, operate a fourth-generation grain and livestock farm near Seneca.  They have sons, Kendall and Kyle, and a daughter, Rachel. They grow corn, soybeans, and alfalfa and run a cow-calf operation. 
Philip has been very active in community and agricultural organizations throughout his career. He has an associate's degree in agriculture production from Joliet College.  He also earned his American FFA Degree and is a graduate of the Illinois Farm Bureau Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT) Program and the Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program.
